Windsurfing: Bradfield Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 10-15 kts Surf / Sea State: flat Air Temperature: warm Sea Temperature: warm Weather: Sunny Max Speed: 16.83 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 5.8 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Nice day sun and wind but couldn't get out of morning commitments, so
arrived at Bradfield just be4 high tide around midday several there all
foils except the lone fin guy and a learner, whilst many were at
Felixstowe
Foil now dominates in light wind for sure. It was breezy in the offshore
wind when I arrive and was even thinking 7.8 instead of 8.5.
The wind was dropping though (story of my life) and by the time I rigged
and launched it was high tide and windless, so missed the action.
Watched some good guys on foil flipping the fastest gybes I have seen to
date. Jobro and Guy are definite some of the fastest foil heads I have seen
and both were racing each other which did look spectacular on the far
side.
Had a couple of decent flights and only one massive wipe outs, but I
arrived too late, so didn't learn anything new, except maybe moved the mast
foot back even further. I started with my mast foot on the Exocet RF91
board with mast foot at the front of the track, but found my stance awkward
whilst trying to stamp on the rear of the board to take off. Am now in the
middle of the track but still too far forward as I get in both front and
rear straps, so will move back even further and see what happens. Foot
straps are now out maximum and back maximum. I definitely feel am more in
control of the foil now.
The wind completely died so had to quit and rush back to father’s day
bbq. Great evening and excellent weather, which makes me wonder why I
wasted time trying to get a sail in.
